Speakers at fPET-2010 who would like to share their powerpoint slides or talk transcripts can send them to deg@illinois.edu for posting to the PhilEngTech website (www.slideshare.net/philengtech).  Those who like to share and who would also like to control the powerpoint can sign up at SlideShare for a free account and share a link to the presentation to the same email address.

The 2010 Forum on Philosophy, Engineering & Technology (fPET-2010) begins this evening at 5pm at the Parker Student Center of the Colorado School of Mines, Golden, CO.  Registration begins at 4pm.  Opening remakrs begin at 5.  Steven Goldman’s keynote talk begins at 5:15pm.  The program and abstracts are available here.

It is just over a week until the 2010 Forum on Philosophy, Engineering & Technology (www.philengtech.org) to be held at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO on Sunday evening and all-day Monday, 9-10 May 2010.

Preparations for the meeting have gone very well and a full conference schedule with abstracts is available online at http://philengtech.org/program/. Registration will begin on Sunday afternoon in the Student Center at 4 pm and the Forum will begin with opening remarks at 5pm, followed by Steven Goldman’s keynote talk.  Meet old friends and make new ones at the opening conference reception at 6:30 pm.  A packed, stimulating, and busy day of philosophy and engineering begins Monday morning at 8am with opening remarks and papers sessions.

Presenters have already registered and others who wish to attend and have not yet registered may do so by going to the registration site https://www.regonline.com/fpet2010 (major credit cards accepted).  Those who wish to register onsite may do so with credit card or check (US banks only).

Those who wish to get a head start on reading abstracts in preparation for the meeting may do so by going to the program page (http://philengtech.org/program/) and clicking on the interesting titles or by downloading the complete abstract booklet in PDF form (go to www.philengtech.org & click on Abstracts, fPET-2010 link or click here).

Those who have last-minute questions may contact forum co-chairs Diane Michelfelder (michelfelder@macalester.edu) or Dave Goldberg (deg@illinois.edu). As evidenced by the program, the titles, and the abstracts, fPET-2010 promises to be the best meeting ever at the intersection of philosophy and engineering.  Make plans to attend a most stimulating event in Golden on 9-10 May 2010.

The deadline for submitting revised abstracts to fPET-2010 was Friday, 9 April 2010.  The deadline has been extended until Monday, 12 April 2010.  The abstract length and reference requirements for the revised abstract are the same as for the original abstract.  Abstracts that are not revised by the deadline will be be printed as they were originally submitted.

Full-length papers are NOT required at this time.  Arrangements will be made following fPET-2010 to select and publish a number of the best contributions to the Forum in an edited volume similar to the one that resulted from WPE-2007 (here).

To submit a revised abstract go to the submission site (here) and log in as before and modify the abstract.  Following submission of the revised abstract be sure that one presenter is registered to attend the conference by going to the registration site (here).  If the presenter is not an author, please send an email to Diane Michelfelder (michelfelder@macalester.com) or Dave Goldberg (deg@illinois.edu) to let the Forum know that a non-author will be presenting your paper.
